Flick editorial policy
Every factual claim on Flick should be traceable, every product test should say what was actually tested, and every original number should ship with a method. If evidence is missing, the claim is cut or the page remains unpublished. A polished draft is not publication-ready merely because it reads well.
What we publish
Flick covers the recipient side of email: unsubscribing, blocking, inbox cleanup, email triage, multi-inbox work and the standards behind those actions. Sender-side deliverability and marketing guidance belongs with our sister companies, Folderly and Belkins, where the audience and expertise fit better.
Source hierarchy
- Primary sources first: provider documentation, standards, laws, regulatory guidance, privacy policies, pricing pages and original research.
- Independent secondary reporting: used for context or where the primary record is incomplete.
- Competitor and affiliate articles: treated as leads to verify, never as the final authority for a product claim.
Claims are linked beside the sentence they support. A source count in a draft is not verification; the linked page must be opened and the claim checked before publication.
Product comparisons
Flick is an email-product company and therefore has a commercial interest when it discusses another inbox tool. Every comparison discloses that conflict. A page distinguishes documented facts from hands-on observations. If we did not connect a live test mailbox, we call the piece a documented product guide—not an independent hands-on test.
Original research
A Flick study publishes its sample, recruitment, exclusions, dates, measurement rules, limitations and an accessible dataset whenever privacy and licensing allow. Protocol-only pages are noindexed until measured results exist. Read the complete research methodology.
AI assistance
AI may help gather a source list, structure a draft, identify ambiguous claims or improve clarity. It is not treated as a source. A human remains responsible for opening the cited material, checking every factual statement, removing unsupported claims and deciding whether the page deserves publication. We do not mass-publish generated pages.
Updates and dates
The visible update date changes only when the article itself has been materially verified or revised. Builds, formatting changes and file copies do not create a new editorial date. Product guides state when behavior or pricing was last checked.
Corrections
Send a correction with the URL, disputed sentence and supporting source to hey@flicked.email. We verify the issue, correct the page and update its editorial date when the change is material.
