Inspect the matches. Search first. Do not delete until the results are the exact slice you intended.
Select all matching conversations. Tick the top checkbox, then click Gmail’s “Select all conversations that match this search” link.
Choose Archive or Delete. Archive removes mail from the inbox but keeps it searchable. Delete moves it to Trash.
Stop the refill. For legitimate newsletters, unsubscribe. For suspicious mail, report spam instead of clicking its links.
